The dunning and recovery board provides a detailed breakdown of your payment recovery operations — from overall recovery rates and retry success to failure analysis by reason and gateway.

Summary Cards
Four headline metrics are displayed at the top:
| KPI | Description |
|---|---|
| Recovery Rate | Percentage of failed payments successfully recovered through dunning retries |
| Revenue at Risk | Total currency amount currently in dunning (unpaid after initial failure) |
| Revenue Recovered | Total currency amount successfully collected through dunning retries |
| Escalated Cases | Count of dunning cases that have exceeded retry limits and require manual action |
Data Tables
Retry Success by Attempt
Shows how effective each retry attempt is:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Attempt # | The retry attempt number (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) |
| Total Attempts | Number of retries made at this attempt level |
| Successful | Number of payments recovered |
| Success Rate % | (Successful / Total Attempts) × 100 |
Typically, the 1st retry has the highest success rate, declining with each subsequent attempt. Use this to calibrate how many retries are worth running.
By Failure Reason
Breaks down dunning cases by the reason for payment failure:

| Reason | Failure reason (e.g., Insufficient Funds, Card Expired, Declined by Bank) |
| Cases | Number of dunning cases with this reason |
| Share % | Percentage of total cases |
| Recovery Rate % | Percentage of cases with this reason that were eventually recovered |
Helps identify systemic issues — for example, a high volume of “Card Expired” failures may indicate a need for card update reminders before billing.
By Payment Gateway
Performance comparison across payment gateways:

| Gateway | Payment gateway name (e.g., Stripe, Razorpay) |
| Cases | Total dunning cases processed through this gateway |
| Recovered | Number successfully recovered |
| Recovery Rate % | (Recovered / Cases) × 100 |
| Amount at Risk | Outstanding currency amount still in dunning |
Use this to evaluate whether a specific gateway is underperforming and may need configuration changes or replacement.
