Rate Plan Pricing
A Rate Plan Price defines the actual monetary amount, billing model, and billing cycle for a rate plan. Each rate plan can have multiple prices — one for each combination of billing strategy and currency.

- Fill in the form across three sections:

How Pricing Displays on the Product Page
The product details page shows currency toggles and billing strategy toggles at the top:
- Currency toggles — Switch between currencies (e.g., USD, INR, EUR).
- Strategy toggles — Switch between billing strategies (e.g., “Monthly”, “Annually”).
These toggles only appear when there are rate plan prices, and strategy toggles are hidden when all prices use the same strategy.
Each rate plan card updates to show the price for the currently selected currency + strategy combination. If no price exists for a combination, a “Set Pricing” button appears.
Custom Prices on an Order
An order line normally uses the list price of its rate plan price or add-on. A custom price is a unit price on the order that is non-zero and different from the list price. A line with no unit price, a zero unit price, or a unit price equal to the list price is not a custom price.
Custom prices are accepted only when both of these hold:
- The request comes from a signed-in merchant portal user. Requests made with an API key are always blocked from setting a custom price.
- The Price Override setting is on. See Price Override.
Otherwise the request fails with HTTP 400 and the message Custom prices are not allowed for this request. The rule covers new subscriptions, plan changes, and add-ons, in order estimates and in orders you place. For a plan change or frequency change scheduled for a later date, plan and add-on lines are checked the same way, and any price sent on a charge line is ignored because charges are always priced by BillHive. Renewals use the subscriber’s current term price, not a price sent on the request.
